I grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana and went to school at Tulane University in New Orleans. I’ve always had a heart for orphans and children…but never knew where that would take me….
After visiting Gressier, Haiti for 45 minutes in August of 2010 I knew there was something different about this place…but continued living my own life and tried not to think about it. However, in December 2011, I realized I couldn’t say NO to God’s plan anymore.
At the age of 24, I quit my amazing job, sold everything and started a non profit Respire Haiti. January 9, 2011 I moved to Gressier, Haiti and rented a house in Gressier by myself and began figuring out what God wanted me to do.
I started a feeding program every Saturday which now feeds over 700 children, and a school which began with 97 children last January and now has over 350 children enrolled.
God has amazing plans for this community and I am so blessed to be a part of it!
I have legal guardianship of two biological sisters, Michaelle and Jessica, and I’m also searching for a way to make sure a child who lived with me for a while and once lived in Son of God orphanage, Gabriel is safe, whatever that looks like.
God put Matthew 25:35-40 on my heart when I was very young and I’ve never been the same.
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him, saying, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?” And the King will answer them, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did it to me.”

I have been cruising thru your web site, you are an amazing young lady. Truely touched as I was by the Haitian people some fourteen years ago. We need to meet someday, possibly I can get Bernard to introuduce us. Our prayers are with you and your work. Gods Blessing and KeeptheFaith! ALWAYS!
You are AWESOME Meghan! You are an AMAZING person and these children are very lucky to have you! Hope you have a great New Year.

That is so amazing Megan, this is what i am starting to do here in Africa(Kenya) you have my prayers, may the good lord meet all your needs according to His riches in glory
You’re an amazing person and an incredible blessing to your Haitian community. You’re in my prayers and may your goals be reached through God’s amazing grace.
Appreciated hearing your testimony on Sat. night at Bridgeway in Rocklin. I believe any parents that were in that service would love to have their daughters turn out just like you. I will pray that your passion will continue for these little ones who are God’s “least of these” and that you will see many miracles among them. Outstanding work!
You are truly doing GOD’s work in Haiti and I am so happy I have been able to see your and GODs work first hand. God bless you Megan. We had only arrived to Haiti and we learned of your story and the amazing accomplishments you have achieved in your short time and desired so much to be part of it! The day at your feeding location providing medial support to those who came was emotionally and physically draining yet spiritually invigorating! Thank you for stopping by the clinic and allowing us to meet and assist! We will follow your success and hope to see you again later this year! Keep in touch! Gob Bless!
I had the privilage of spending 10 days with Megan in June 2011 at her house in Gressier, Haiti. It was the most amazing experience being in the house with all the people that were there just to give whatever they could physically, mentally and spiritually to the children.
Megan, I think you are an amazing young woman who God has chosen to do a great job.

Megan, reading your stories makes me want to take some time and write how God has led me in many times in my life when I had no hope and no human way out. You are an encouragement to me and many others.
May God continue to lead you, and bless you as you bless other.
Ron
Hey Megan,
praying for you as I read through a lot of your stories and seeing how God is using you in such an incredible way. I remember the first time you went to Ukraine with us and how God started implanting in your heart His love for others and how you can have an impact on the lives of so many. After all these years do you believe that He is using you, I mean He could have chosen someone else to go to Haiti and see these kids through His eyes but he chose you, Megan Boudreaux, an ordinary young lady from Lafayette to follow Him and show His love through you to so many. Way to go young lady. We are so proud of you and so excited. Can’t wait to sit down face to face and visit sometime soon. Mr John
Megan,
Found your site via a Facebook share. My heart broke reading about Gabriel. Broke for you, broke for him, broke for all the others like him. I love Haiti. I’m about to go back. But reading your post and knowing that so many have the same story….it just makes it so hard to carry on. But we do. Because if we don’t, then those that oppress have won. We do it for the children, the babies. The ones that have no voice. You sound like an amazing person. Thank you for sharing your story with the world, as painful as it must have been for you.
My hope is that you and your angel are reunited one day – either here on Earth, or in a better place, beyond.
Much love to you, sweet stranger.
Melissa
Just stumbled upon this comment. Thank you, thank you, thank you. My heart breaks every day for sweet Gabriel…trusting God and believing we will be reunited one day soon.
Dearest Megan,
I am from Barbados, the Caribbean. In the last 6 months the Lord has been moving my life in a similar direction to what you are doing. I met a wonderful Barbadian woman who does a lot of work with orphans in Haiti, Africa and South America. Reading your story was a great inspiration to me. I sponser a little girl at a small orphanage in Haiti through the Barbadian trust and I am positive I will be coming there soon to meet these children and orphans very soon. I just cried and cried reading about Gabriel and I prayed and interceeded tonight strongly that the efforts going on right now to shut the sons of god orphanage and bring justice for those orphans will happen! The website I gave you is the organization that I have been connected with. Who knows, it would be lovely to meet you when I visit Haiti? Alison
Megan, I stumbled upon your site last night as I was doing chores around my home. I still am not sure how I found you. To say that I am forever changed and now extremely aware of the plight of the orphans in Haiti is putting it mildly. It is sobering. I will do all I can to spread the word about the work you are doing and fervently seek the Lord to give you His wisdom, protection and favor. What a vision you have for Haiti! Thank you for all that you are doing – you are such a treasure to the Kingdom!
Hi Megan ,
I was introduced to your work by a wonderful young Haitian, Chrisnet Fertilus , who has been blessing me with every post he makes on Facebook. He told me about your work in Haiti and anyone who visits your site can see the (beautiful) simplicity and power that is moving you forward . As your scripture expresses, it’s really not all that complicated , is it ? God Bless you and keep you .

Hey! Chrisnet is wonderful!! He visited Gressier and was amazing, he built our large table and benches that we use ALL the time
Thanks for your message and for sharing what God has done and is doing here in Gressier!
Meagan,
Thank you for inspiring us all to be used by God to further his kingdom through love!

Megan -
First off, it is very humbling to read about such obedience in a follower of Christ. May God continue to extend His grace through you to all that you come into contact with.
Now, I just have a simple question (maybe not so simple) but, if one was to visit Haiti, and they want to speak the native language, would it be best to study french or haitian creole? Which language would better serve the person during their time there? My wife visited Haiti last year and is looking to be more “conversational” during her next visit.
Any insight you could provide would be very much appreciated.
Regards
Hi there!
Haitian Creole would be better to study because it is the native language spoken there so everyone speaks it. French is spoken less by children (if they are in school they are learning it) and really only educated people speak French.
Creole Made Easy is a great book to google and buy for help!

I am proud to call myself a Christian after reading about your cause and how you have followed your calling. I have had the Haitian experience and the people get in your heart the moment you meet them. Keep doing God’s work, God Bless.

Are the children in your school currently restaveks? When they come to your school has someone been able to remove them somehow from their situation? Are the students living at the school?
Pam,
Yes about 70% of the children in our school are currently Restaveks. They are still living in their current situations. It is a very difficult and sensitive situation, but we know that we cannot just go and remove every child from this situation for two reasons. The 1st reason is because if we just removed the children from those houses we would just double the number of Restaveks, all of those families would find other children to be their domestic servants and 2nd, then we have a situation of 300+ children not having a home. Although this is difficult to know that these children are still living in this situation, we know that the Lord has told us to change this terrible reality through EDUCATION. Educating the community, the families, the caregivers and our children at our school. Thank you for your questions and please know that we are prayerfully walking through this process of change with the Lord.
Hey Megan, great to see what you guys are doing for Haitian children!! We will be in Gressier with a team of 15 on Dec 15th from Arkansas. We are doing a VBS for the church at Santos (I believe). Also some movies and evangelism/discipleship at a few churches along with pastor Bonito’s I hope. Hope to get to see you guys and talk about what God is doing there. In any case, thanks for all you allow God to do through you!! He is mighty to love and save!!
